MLK Infill Residence Prototype

Polis Studio was commissioned to design a home for medium-scale infill lots in the M.L. King Historic District. The goal for the project was to design a market rate, three bedroom, two and a half bath home that could blend with the mix of styles existing in the district. The design incorporates a two-story great room / living room, concrete floors, nine-foot ceilings, and a master suite with private balcony. The plans were purchased by an initial builder, Tower Construction, and work was completed in May 2005. The home sold within five days of a formal realty listing and on-site signage. After building this initial design, the builder adapted the plans with minor adjustments for his family?s new home within the district.
